AMERICAN MANUFACTURING
Step into the Leupold factory and you will discover an American manufacturing success story. It is a vibrant facility with over 155,000 square feet teeming with passionate people, precision machinery, and cutting edge optical labs. This is a rare sight: these days very few riflescopes are made in the United States. Yet even the least expensive Leupold riflescope is built with care and precision right here in this facility.
Over two million pounds of aluminum are machined into riflescope main tubes and parts each year at the Leupold factory. Laid end over end that aluminum would stretch over four hundred miles. But more impressive than the quantity of scope production is the consistently outstanding quality, a testament to Leupold's precision throughout the manufacturing process.
AMERICAN ENGINEERING
At any time you can find teams of optical and mechanical engineers in state-of-the-art optical labs and model shops around the Leupold campus, or walking the factory floor and interacting with the manufacturing team. Leupold leadership in optical quality is demonstrated as the designated U.S. representative of telescopic systems in the ISO standards body.
Every optical prescription and mechanical specification on any Leupold riflescope is created for a distinct purpose. Those standards, whether optical or mechanical, are rigidly tested on every riflescope made. Every Leupold riflescope is designed to withstand 5,000 impacts at 750g - a standard no competing scopes have consistently passed. Every Leupold riflescope is water tested before the adjustment covers are installed to ensure that there is absolute water integrity. Over 60 years of riflescope innovation has made Leupold America's Optics Authority.
