• TikTok will officially file a lawsuit against the US government this week. Trump issued 2 executive orders earlier this month that banned transactions with the app and directed owner ByteDance to divest from its US operations. • Big software cos like Snowflake and Asana are unveiling their S-1 filings as early as this week, ahead of September trading debuts. Amid Covid-19 uncertainty, major tech stocks have pushed the S&P 500 to record levels and tech cos are taking advantage of bull season to IPO: Unity Technologies revealed its filing today, but keep an eye out for Palantir’s and Airbnb’s S-1s. We predicted that Unity, Snowflake, Asana, and Airbnb would go public this year — and name other contenders — in this report.
   

• Apple may terminate all of Fortnite maker Epic Games’ developer accounts on Friday. Apple banned Fortnite for violating App Store guidelines after Epic added a direct payments option into the game. In response, Epic, which has been publicly backed by Microsoft, filed an antitrust lawsuit against the tech giant. Apple has had numerous spats with developers in recent years, but we take a look at how Apple once leveraged its influence with the developer community to bring down another tech heavy hitter in this report.
