$18.5B: Telehealth giant Teladoc is acquiring health monitoring platform Livongo, which provides services for managing chronic conditions like diabetes, for $18.5B. 45 days: President Trump issued executive orders that would ban transactions between the US and 2 China-based tech companies, TikTok's parent company Bytedance and WeChat owner Tencent. 11 emperor penguin colonies: A new study used high-resolution satellite imagery to find 11 additional emperor penguin colonies, bringing the total confirmed number to 61. The researchers estimated that the additional emperor penguin groups could increase the total known population by up to 10%, but also warned that these newly-discovered colonies are located in areas highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
