Hi there,
Here's what we're watching in tech news this week:
-
Some big earnings reports to watch this week include Tencent, Baidu, Lyft, and Foxconn. Eyes will be on Tencent, which lost $66B in stock value over 2 days after Trump issued an order to ban its WeChat app. Also of interest will be Lyft’s performance as the pandemic slashed demand for ride-hailing, and competitor Uber was able to staunch some losses via growth in its food delivery business. We take a look at how Uber makes money in this report.
-
The IoT World conference kicks off this week. The fully virtual conference will cover IoT adoption across industries and various IoT technologies. Dive deeper into how IoT is shaping healthcare here or the rest of our IoT research here.
- TikTok may sue the Trump administration as early as tomorrow, according to NPR. Trump has cited national security and privacy issues as a justification, but the lawsuit will allege that Trump's ban of the app was unconstitutional because it didn't give TikTok a chance to respond or provide sufficient evidence for its assertions. We cover how TikTok found its massive success here.
