New and Improved Street Cleaning Alert System
Kudos to "Team Clean & Green"
High-fives to all the folks who braved Saturday’s chilly temps to participate in the WBNA “Clean & Green.” This year's clean-up was held in conjunction with city-wide Earth Day events. Armed with gloves and trash bags (and a few donuts for energy!), the group fanned out from Maplewood Park and made short work of clearing litter and debris from the streets, sprucing up the flowerbeds at the park, and sprinkling wildflower seeds on abandoned lots and unsightly parkways.
Many thanks to the Alderman's Office for kicking in some trash bags and coordinating similar clean-up events across the 1st Ward. It's great to see our neighborhoods getting much-needed facelifts this spring!

New and Improved Street Cleaning Alert System
If you’re like many of us, you can never quite remember when to move your car for street cleaning. Fortunately, 1st Ward Alderman Joe Moreno has announced a new and improved alert system to give us a nudge and help residents avoid those dreaded orange tickets.
TktTxt is a FREE service that sends you email and text alerts about upcoming street sweeping in your area, so you can move your car and avoid being ticketed. It takes less than 2 minutes to sign up, and your protection begins immediately.
To register, simply go to this map, click on the zone you live in, and enter your information. It’s that easy!
No taxpayer money is being used to fund these alerts -- Alderman Moreno will be paying for the service with a combination of his own money and political funds. So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!
