Leadership Development: Women's Ministry  |  July 2019

You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

—Isaiah 58:11

Summer Intern

The office of Leadership Development: Women's and Ethnic Ministry is excited about offering a five week, cross-cultural internship for a student at Calvin Theological Seminary.

Meet Kristy Bootsma: I am originally from Edmonton, Alberta. I moved to Grand Rapids almost a year ago to get my MDiv at Calvin Theological Seminary. I am excited for the opportunity to work with Leadership Development in the CRC as I am passionate about listening, advocacy, and institutional change. I am excited to be a part of what God is doing in the CRC. I am determined to listen to and learn from the stories and experiences of female leaders and ethnic minority leaders in our denomination. I am excited to bring my experience and learn from others as a woman pursuing ordained ministry. God is teaching me that practicing true empathy is really hard work. I come in as a learner, wanting to gain understanding, expand my worldview, and continue to discover the gifts God has entrusted to me to do God’s Kingdom work. .
