Since that time, high-profile droughts and other factors have made water usage by data centers an increasingly scrutinized topic. Despite broad awareness of WUE within the ICT industry, operators remain slow to embrace it. To address this challenge, The Green Grid will be focusing upcoming work group activity on refining the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) metric to directly account for the energy content of water.
