ASID WI “Top 5 Under 5” Awards – COMING SOON!
Are you an Emerging Professional who actively participates in the Wisconsin Chapter of ASID?  Do you work with an extraordinary Emerging Professional who strengthens the creative working environment at your firm or business?  As an Emerging Professional, do you create and take advantage of opportunities to support the interior design profession in the public realm as a passionate ambassador of your chosen career?

If you said “YES” to any of the above… we look forward to your nomination! The Wisconsin Chapter of ASID will start nominations for the ‘Top 5 Under 5 Awards’ next week

The ‘Top 5 Under 5 Awards’ recognize and celebrate Emerging Professional (designers in the first five years of their professional career) Chapter members’ outstanding achievements and contributions to the Chapter, to their businesses or employers, and to the field of interior design as a whole.
Help us celebrate our Emerging Professional members by nominating yourself or someone you know!  Nominees from last year who still qualify are encouraged to apply again.
Five award recipients will be recognized at the Wisconsin Chapter of ASID Annual Meeting this September!

At ASID, we know that interior design impacts the human experience. Effective interior design makes workers more efficient, helps students learn, and helps everyone get and stay healthy; it helps us have fun, age gracefully, and connect with family. Design is at the crux of how we live, work, and play. But if this is how interior designers impact the world around us, what impacts interior designers? When we sit down at the drafting table, what factors are at play? And how do they impact the designs we ultimately produce? For the 2016/2017 Interior Design Outlook and State of the Industry report, we hypothesize that in order to understand the built environment, where we spend about 93 percent of our lives, we must first understand what impacts the people who design it.

One Voice

A threat on one person's practice of interior design, is a threat to everyone and the advancement of the profession overall.

The latest comes from Mike Lee, a United States Senator from Utah. He has just announced his intent to introduce a federal bill that could lead to outlawing the rights of any interior designer to practice, not just those with a license or those trying to obtain one. Groups loyal to opposing this profession's advancement are backing this bill and passage of it on the federal level would mean a template for states to follow.
